What Fresh Hell?
Every day it’s some new low
“Unprecedented corruption…” “Never before in the history of the country…” “Historic lawlessness…” “Completely breaking from norms…” These are but a few of the phrases used to describe the havoc that Trump is literally and figuratively wreaking on the country. From demolishing the East Wing to weaponizing the Department of Justice to prosecute his enemies to raiding the Treasury of almost $1.8 billion of taxpayer money to dole out as he pleases, each day brings some new atrocity America has never had to deal with before. And it’s also the little things like renaming the Gulf of Mexico and hanging banners of his face on every government building and putting his signature on our paper currency that wear and grate on Americans’ collective psyche. Inflation — driven by his tariffs and his war of choice in Iran — are causing real distress and pain and he couldn’t care less. “It’s peanuts!” he exclaimed yesterday. And now, he’s actively trying to steal the midterm elections with his states redistricting gambit. Despite this, Americans are reaching a breaking point and I predict Trump and the GOP are going to pay dearly at the ballot box in November. Fingers crossed.
