Trump gives CBS a black eye

People toss around the term, “censorship,” most of the time incorrectly. Getting shushed in a theater isn’t censorship. What happened to “60 Minutes” last night — where a news story about immigrants being deported to a brutal prison in El Salvador by the Trump administration was spiked by Bari Weiss, the new editor in chief of CBS News and a Trump ally — definitely amounts to, at the least, self-censorship and very likely, straight-up government censorship. These are dark times I never thought I would live to see in the country I love. Trump’s takeover of the media from The Washington Post to CBS News and soon, CNN, if he gets his way, is truly terrifying and sad.
